Monitoring and evaluation
Our application form asks you to specify how much of the grant you would like to receive each quarter and what work you will undertake each quarter, including the targets you intend to meet. For example:
|
July - Sept 2007 |
£2500 |
Provide one day trip, for twenty children, to Cotswold Water Park Provide thirty one-to-one learning sessions for children with special educational needs Provide fifteen counselling sessions Recruit four new volunteers |
If you are successful you will receive your first quarter’s grant payment up front. Further quarterly releases of funds will depend on you filing quarterly monitoring returns that show you have met your preceding quarter’s targets. For example we would not release the grant payment for October - December 2007 if you have not given a satisfactory quarterly monitoring return for July - Sept 2007.
Completing quarterly monitoring returns
Each quarter we send you a quarterly monitoring form. At the head of this form we show the targets for the quarter as described in your application. This is what happens:
-
we send you a quarterly monitoring form
-
after the end of the quarter you meet with our Development Officer who will help you complete the quarterly monitoring form
-
you send us the completed form
-
we check the form
-
if everything is in order we release the next quarter’s funding
Targets
Experience tells us you will occasionally miss quarterly targets; you will also exceed targets. Also, projects can and do change as new challenges and opportunities emerge. All we ask is that you stay in touch, talk to us about any issues as they arise, and use opportunities such as quarterly monitoring visits to discuss important developments.
Sharing success and experiences
Quarterly monitoring provides a regular opportunity for you to tell us about the work you are doing. We encourage all our preferred partners to share any news, developments, success stories, and challenging experiences with the Trust.
