How do you apply?
Initial application stage
We advise applicants to read both the information in this website and our Strategic Plan for 2007-12. If you then feel you have a proposal that is consistent with your own organisation’s vision, that will help the Peter Lang Children’s Trust fulfil its mission, then you should contact our Development Officer. We strongly recommend you do this before you send us a formal proposal. If we agree that your proposal is suitable, our Development Officer will then send you a copy of the Trust’s application form.
How to apply
- You must complete the application form in its entirety, sign it, and send it to the Trust
- You must send the following supporting documents with your application. We will not consider your application until we have all the documents.
- a signed copy of your constitution or governing document
- a signed copy of your accounts for the latest financial year
- a copy of your most recent bank statement
- a copy of your child protection
policy
- confirmation that you have carried out all the cecessary Criminal Record Bureau checks
-
Once we have received your completed application, our Development Officer will contact you to arrange an initial visit. This visit fulfils several purposes:
- It is an opportunity for our Development Officer to view the facilities and resources you will use to deliver the proposed project- It is an opportunity for our Development Officer to meet with staff, volunteers and trustees of applicant organisations
- It is an opportunity for you to provide more information to support your bid, and to answer questions - It is an opportunity for you to meet with a representative of the Trust and ask any questions
-
Our Development Officer will complete a summary report of the meeting and send it to us with the completed application form.
-
Our Trust Board will assess your application at the next quarterly meeting. The Trust Board can consider applications at any of the four meetings during the year; however, because of the make up of the Trust’s income streams, most decisions are made at the May meeting.
-
We will tell you of the Board’s decision, in writing, within two weeks.
-
If your application is successful you will receive an Award Confirmation letter and two copies of your Conditions of Grant Form; you must sign both copies and return one to the trust. At this point the trust will also contact your named referee. We will not release funds until we have received your signed Condition of Grant Form, and a satisfactory reference.
-
If your application is successful you will receive your first quarter’s payment before the work is due to start. We will make further quarterly payments on successfully completing quarterly monitoring forms and visits.
