The Family Haven

The Family Haven is located in the centre of Gloucester and provides a comprehensive level of support to pre-school aged children and their immediate families. Grant support from the PLCT is used to support the increasing demand for 1:1 educational nursery sessions for children with special educational needs. The PLCT grant is also used to support a healthy meals programme, family day trips and respite sessions. www.thefamilyhaven.com

  

Family Space in Hester's Way

Family Space provides a range of child and family oriented services in the west of Cheltenham. The PLCT specifically supports the work of Family Space's Cheltenham Child Contact Centre. The CCCC provides a safe and supported environment that enables children to maintain contact with both parents throughout and after difficult periods of parental separation. www.familyspace.org.uk

 

Cirencester Housing for Young People - CHYP

CHYP provides a range of supported accommodation facilities for young people. The PLCT supports an individually tailored learning programme aimed at developing young participants confidence and helping them successfully access education, training, work and independent accommodation.

 

Together In Matson

Together In Matson provides a range of activities and support services to children and young people in the Matson ward of Gloucester. Support from the PLCT has enabled TiM to develop their range of services and activities which now include peer-led health advice, work targeting young people out-of-school, support for young parents and mentoring support.

 

Infobuzz

Infobuzz work across Gloucestershire's schools and prisons, helping young people negotiate their transition to adulthood by providing accurate information on drugs & alcohol and by providing learning opportunities that focus on the development of personal and social skills. The PLCT is currently funding a programme that provides OCN accredited training in Interpersonal Skills to young people, with the intention of helping them participate more fully in mainstream education. www.infobuzz.co.uk

 

Teens-In-Crisis

Teens in Crisis provides a range of confidential crisis support services for young people aged 11-21. This includes counselling and support, advice and information across the county of Gloucestershire.  The  PLCT currently supports TiC's Free Access counselling service. www.teensincrisis.ik.com

 

The Parenting Course - Gloucestershire Churches Together

The Parenting Course programme began in 2005 with the PLCT funding research into the existing provision of parenting courses in the county of Gloucestershire. Specific areas of need and demand were identified: support for parents with children aged 0-3 and support for parents with children identified as having special educational needs. This work has progressed with the PLCT not only funding the provision of parenting courses in areas where an un-met need has been identified, but also taking the lead in the county in developing accredited training for parenting course facilitators.

 

Young Gloucestershire

Young Gloucestershire is a leading voluntary youth work organisation in the county of Gloucestershire. It provides programmes, services and events for young people between 8-24 years. The PLCT is currently funding a programme run in partnership between Young Gloucestershire and local fostering agencies  to develop a new range of services and activities for looked after children developed through consultation with those young people and their carer families. www.youngglos.org.uk 

 

The Christian Adventure Centre - Viney Hill

The Christian Adventure Centre - Viney Hill  is a residential and camping centre offering outdoor pursuits and adventure activities for groups, and is based in the Forest of Dean. The PLCT is currently supporting a new programme targeted at young people struggling to participate in mainstream education. The "On The Edge' programme involves small groups of young people planning and undertaking a wilderness journey where they will have to work collaboratively and develop skills of self-discipline and outdoors survival in order to complete their journey. www.vineyhilladventure.org

 

County Community Projects

CCP provides a range of crisis and preventative services to improve the lives of children, young people, families and vulnerable adults. The PLCT is currently supporting a project conducted in partnership between CCP and a county-based school that has recently experienced a higher than average level of school exclusions. The PLCT funded programme is targeted at young people who have been identified as being at risk of exclusion with the intention of providing support to them both in school and the home environment in order help them engage fully in mainstream education and being drawn into a cycle of exclusion. www.ccprojects.org.uk

 

Homestart Stroud and Dursley

Homestart Stoud and Dursley provide support to families with children under 5 who are experiencing a range of complex and profound difficulties. Carefully matched volunteers are trained to visit families in their homes on a weekly basis, providing support and helping ensure that both parents and children can access the full range of support services available to them. The PLCT is currently funding home support in the central Stroud and Cashes Green area of Stroud District. www.home-start.org.uk
