Peter Lang Children's Trust announces Patron
Peter Lang Children's Trust is proud to announce that Mr Jonathan Carr (High Sheriff of Gloucestershire 2007-8), has become the Trust's first patron.
Mr Jonathan Carr, High Sheriff of Gloucestershire, has become Peter Lang Children's Trust's first patron. Mrs Margaret Tait, Chair of Trustees, expressed her "delight" adding that "I am very excited by this news. Jonathan's enthusiasm for the young people of Gloucestershire and knowledge of the county's charitable sector will be an amazing asset to the Trust. I very much look forward to working with Jonathan as the Trust looks to make a real impact in the lives of the county's most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people."
As High Sherrif Jonathan Carr has been actively involved in supporting and championing young people within Gloucestershire. Through supported initiatives such as Crimebeat and DebtCred Jonathan has taken a lead role in encouraging young people to get involved in helping create safer communities and develop personal money management skills for life after school.
Jonathan was born in Edinburgh and brought up in Cumbria, and has lived in Gloucestershire since 1987. After studying at Emmanuel College, Cambridge he went into the City becoming a partner in L Messel, later moving to be a Director of Warburgs.
His local interests include the Parochial Church Council, being a Patron of Cheltenham Festivals as well as a member of their Finance Committee, a Trustee of the Barnwood House Trust, and a Trustee of the Gloucestershire Community Foundation.
